The goals are timeless, and if there are deviations between these and actual conditions, measures must be taken. Climate secured water treatment means that:- Uppsala has a good knowledge of, and preparedness for, the impact on drinking water of a changed climate- Meaures to prevent flooding in Fyrisån (Fyris River, which flows through the city) have been implemented- Uppsala has a good knowledge of, and preparedness for, flooding in Fyrisån- Water at high flows is taken care of, to be used in the event of drought and heat waves- In built-up areas, there are secondary runways for high flows at extreme rainfall. New construction does not occur in low points and closed areas since these can be flooded at extreme rainfall. New buildings are designed to minimize the consequences of flooding. The water programme is concretised in an action plan (to be presented). | The goals described below are a selection of climate adaptation related goals in the Comprehensive plan of Uppsala and several sectoral programmes, such as Water Management Programme, Nature Preservation Programme, Stormwater Programme, Park Plan, Architecture Policy and City Centre Strategy. | 07/16/2021 01:47:15 | ||
