Existe una red de tuberías para capturar biogás dentro de todo el relleno sanitario "El Inga", que conduce a una chimenea donde se incinera el biogás. Con una inversión de aproximadamente US $ 7 millones, a fines de 2015 habrá una planta de energía de biogás ensamblado dentro del relleno sanitario “El Inga”, comenzando a generar 2MW / h, y esperando generar 5MW / h para fines de 2016.
