This phenomenon, among many others, has direct consequences on the population due to the increase in the wind chill. However, for coastal cities such as Lima and its respective districts, even more, alarming and silent is its effect on the hydrological cycle that significantly alters the periodicity and volume of rainfall and the sources of freshwater that supply the population's demand.By mid-2015, following the United Nations Climate Change Summit in Paris, the world's nations signed a historic commitment to take joint action to counter global warming. The role played by cities, and therefore their leaders are transcendental. The consequences are reflected along their streets, affecting their children. Cities today represent the battlefield against climate change, and all are responsible for having clear strategies for this tough battle. In this sense, and understanding the responsibility, the Municipality of Jesús María in the year 2019 decides to take one more step and make its commitment tangible through the signing of the Global Mayors Pact for Climate and Energy Commitment. For things to change we must start with ourselves, the Municipality of Jesús María decided to undertake an ambitious plan that will help reduce the effects of climate change and improve the quality of life of its citizens. When using the inventory data for aggregation, comparison and trend analysis, please note that the inventory data is based on non-verified self-reported city inputs. The reported inventory may not include all emission sources within the city boundary.
Please note that this dataset may contain data from cities or, in some instances, groups of cities at different administrative levels. This includes metropolitan areas, combined authorities, and 5 American regional councils, which are: Chicago Metropolitan Mayors Caucus; Denver Regional Council of Governments; Metropolitan Council, Twin Cities; Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments; and Mid-America Regional Council.
