EMSD has implemented a 7 year retro-commissioning programme starting from 2019 which targeted to cover over 200 major government buildings. EMSD, together with 2 local professional institutions/organization, signed a memorandum of co-operation in November 2018 with another four universities and professional bodies in the Mainland and Macao to promote the development and application of RCx for buildings in the Greater Bay Area (GBA). Through collaboration among these partners, it is expected that various organisations in the GBA and other Mainland cities will further collaborate to adopt RCx as a new solution for achieving building energy efficiency through sharing of knowledge, experience and training.(d) To achieve energy saving in buildings cooling, the Government is providing a district cooling system for air conditioning service for the non-domestic area of about 1.7 million m2 in the Kai Tak Development Area at the heart of the city. It is estimated that the system will help reduce 59,500 tonnes of CO2 annually. District cooling system for air conditioning service was planned to be provided in new development areas.(e) Fresh Water Cooling Towers Scheme is to promote the use of more energy efficient water-cooled air-conditioning systems. Up to end 2018, 2556 fresh water cooling towers have been put into operation. The estimated annual energy saving of the completed installations is 524 million kWh, equivalent to about 367,000 tonnes CO2 reduction/year.07/16/2021 01:47:15

This includes metropolitan areas, combined authorities, and 5 American regional councils, which are: Chicago Metropolitan Mayors Caucus; Denver Regional Council of Governments; Metropolitan Council, Twin Cities; Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments; and Mid-America Regional Council.
