There are many things that set Bristol apart and make it a place where an increasing number of people want to live, work and study. In fact, Bristol’s population is increasing at a higher rate than other similar UK cities with its wealth of culture, creativity and easy access to other places appealing to many. Bristol is now a truly global city and is home to a unique mix of cultures and ideas with at least 91 different languages spoken.Bristol is a leading green city in a UK and European context. For example Bristol was the first city in the UK to develop and implement a climate strategy in 2004 and to declare a Climate Emergency in 2018. Bristol was the European Green Capital 2015, the only UK city to achieve this recognition. Our reporting boundary is the same as the city boundary.

Governance and Data Management1.4Please list the stakeholder engagement activities for each relevant stakeholder group.4Aim of the engagement activities11) Outreach to Bristol organisations, and organisations with operations in Bristol, either directly as the council, via BGCP, Business West, Severnnet (tbc), via partners and their peers to ask for their support and commitment to reducing carbon to net zero.2) Create a delivery plan for a segment of a OCCS theme, under the auspices of at least one committed partner.3) Create the space for the difficult conversations that will challenge the city to address the tough areas of the OCCS. This would ideally lead to a tight coalition of partners, perhaps including but not led by the council, grappling with the hard problems, proposing solutions, exploring how these will happen and taking further action under the brand of ‘net zero by 2030’ or the ‘OCCS’. 4) Deliver consistent communications to organisations including stories of non-council (as well as council) actors and partners delivering actions towards net zero.
