The city of Indore covers an area of 276 square kilometers and is situated at 75 o 48' East longitude and 22o 48' North latitude. The city is perched at an average height of 550 meters above the sea level. Indore has an Urban Population of 24,27,709 and a rural population of 84,8988. Indore relies on a bulk of its trade coming from large, medium and small-scale manufacturing and service industries. These industries range from Automobile to Pharmaceutical and from Software to Retail and from Textile trading to Real estate. The city of Indore is famous for its multi-ethnic culture. Multi-ethnicity is a way of life here which reflects in its art and craft, food habits and even in languages. The Yeshwant Club (named after Late the Maharaja Yeshwant Rao II Holkar of Indore) and Sayaji Club/ Hotel (named after Late the Maharaja Sayaji Rao III Gaekwad of Baroda) are big sponsors for art & music and invite talents from across world. The major art centers in Indore are the Devlalikar kala Vithika, Ravindra Natya Grah (RNG), Mai Mangeshkar Sabha Grah, Anand Mohan Mathur Sabhagrah, DAVV auditorium, and Brilliant Convention Centre.The city holds innumerable temples which reflects religio-cultural aspects of the city. The city being the seat of Holkars is full of architectural wonders. Most prominent from them is Rajwada Palace, built by Holkars, represents Maratha, Mughal and French style of architecture. Indore is located at the southern fringes of the Malwa Plateau and due to this location, the city experiences cool breeze during the evening. This breeze is also known as the Shab-e-Malwa, which provides relief to the people from the scorching sun.
