Such areas are found mainly in the northeast part of the urban area at Tornby, Kallerstad, Torvinge, SAAB and Hackefors industrial area. Tornby, which is a large commercial area with number of people on the move, is considered particularly important to deal with and take into account in future planning. Less cohesive risk areas can also be seen around the University Hospital, at Linköping University and at the animal hospital (The area around the animal hospital will be built on, which will probably lead to an improved local climate than at present, especially when open hardened surfaces (parking spaces) will be built up), where the proportion of larger parking spaces is high in comparison with other areas of the suburbs.

This means greater risks of landslides, torrential rains, landslides and erosion. The transport ofpollution in polluted land and water areas may increase as a result of increased or changed water flows. The pollutants can affect recipients, groundwater, drinking water and natural areas and provide long-term health impact. The various aspects affect the physical planning from the early stages with assessment of the suitability of new development areas, need to prioritize remediation of contaminated land, to the construction of details in the urban environment to cope with, for example, intense rain.The wastewater network can be flooded if stormwater penetrates it, which can lead to leakage and overflow of wastewater. It can also lead to increased flows to the sewage treatment plant.Increased flows and levels in watercourses can also lead to leakage from active and older landfills within the municipality. Embankments and dams can also collapse.
