Increased construction in wood can have positive health effects for construction workers through reduced noise and construction dust. The focus on promoting walking, cycling, public transport and micromobility through physical planning creates conditions for everyday exercise. Reduced road traffic has positive health effects through reduced noise problems and better air quality.

LEAD is a business incubator that accelerates the development of start-ups by providing innovators and entrepreneurs with a range of targeted resources and services to achieve faster and more secure growth. LEAD is financed by LiU together with Linköping and Norrköping municipalities, as well as Vinnova.Incubators have a unique and important role to play in the work with sustainable development and the climate issue in particular, as they can influence and provide a completely new generation of companies with tools to create smart solutions right from the start. With a mindset to explore how LEAD can maximize the positive climate impact, the sustainability project started in 2020 in collaboration with Cybercom. In the startup environment and innovation ecosystem, there are today a large number of companies that offer exciting and relevant solutions to the climate challenge, sometimes without being aware of it themselves. By solving the needs of their customers and society in completely new smart ways, they can contribute to how society organizes itself more resource-efficiently, by helping to encourage resource-efficient business models, behaviors and lifestyles.- This issue is about acting now, if we want to see a change tomorrow. We as incubators have an important role. We must show the way and make a good impression early on both in the companies we work with as well as in the ecosystem we operate in. It is about time that we dare to challenge and think bigger. The issue does not only concern the companies we work with that fundamentally improve the future, but also to ensure that all companies that are founded now contribute in a positive way, says Catharina Sandberg, CEO of LEAD.

Opportunities6.0Please indicate the opportunities your city has identified as a result of addressing climate change and describe how the city is positioning itself to take advantage of these opportunities.2Describe how the city is maximizing this opportunity2The municipality of Linköping is actively working with mobility management both according to change of behavior and creating opportunities for a more sustainable way of mobility.A recently run project is the Linköping MaaS. The city of Linköping is developing a Mobility as a Service (MaaS) app. The Swedish Energy Agency has granted just over SEK 6 million for the development process, and a number of different mobility players are together building a user-friendly digital platform for increased sustainable travel. An app will make it easier for the Linköping citizens to see the range of public and shared transport services. It will also be easier to switch between and pay for combined mobility services.Linköping's traffic strategy (since 2010) expresses the following:1. Firstly, work for measures that mean that a car journey or car transport does not need to be made and that accessibility to goods or services can be achieved in other ways. If a trip still has to be made, we should work with measures that strive towards use of a more suitable mode of transport (public transport, bicycle, walking).2. Secondly, work for measures that mean that existing traffic systems are used more efficiently, safer and more environmentally friendly.3. Thirdly, work for balanced point-by-point improvement and remodeling measures in existing infrastructure.4. When measures in steps 1-3 are not sufficient, the municipality shall act for a balanced expansion of new infrastructure for car traffic. The modes of transportation are prioritized in the following order: 1. Walk and Bike 2. Public transport 3. Car traffic

Opportunities6.2aPlease provide some key examples of how your city collaborates with business and/or industries in the table below.3Description of collaboration1The Linköping initiative, a project owned and run by the municipality. Linköping Municipality aims to become carbon dioxide neutral. The Linköping initiative is a network where energy-intensive companies and public organizations work together to contribute to the goal. The business community accounts for a large part of the carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere - but also for many of the solutions to environmental problems. Therefore, the municipal companies and the rest of the business community's climate work play an important role. One way to become more climate-smart is to learn from each other. This takes place within the Linköping Initiative, which started in 2018. In addition to Linköping Municipality, the Östergötland Region and the municipality's largest companies, the network consists of energy-intensive companies operating in Linköping. The Linköping initiative will be a platform for learning and knowledge exchange. The parties will together participate and develop the local and global climate work. It will contribute to increasing the pace of transformation to long-term sustainable development.
13043960178Linköping MunicipalitySwedenEurope6. Opportunities6.2aPlease provide some key examples of how your city collaborates with business and/or industries in the table below.3Description of collaboration2The municipality of Linköping has submitted an application for the project Climate Neutral Cities 2030, financed by Viable Cities (response is expected in September 2021). The project aims for Swedish cities to be able to take the lead in accelerating the climate related sustainable transformation. The projects will deliver:- An annually revised Climate Contract 2030 as a central instrument for coordinating and supporting system innovation- New forms and processes to mobilize a breadth of relevant actors to accelerate the transition to climate neutrality and sustainability by 2030- An established innovation team, or adjustment function, with a mandate and ability to accelerate the transformation to the climate-neutral city in 2030 based on the city's specific challenges- A clear portfolio of investments that together can contribute to strengthening the ability to accelerate the transformation- A climate investment plan that covers both municipal investments and those investments that take place outside the municipal sector- During the project period, concrete investments in the portfolio linked to Climate Contract 2030 are expected to be tested, implemented, evaluated and scaled up with a focus on initiatives that make a real difference in climate change.
13044060178Linköping MunicipalitySwedenEurope6. Opportunities6.2aPlease provide some key examples of how your city collaborates with business and/or industries in the table below.3Description of collaboration3Fossilfritt (Fossil-free) 2030. Fossilfritt 2030 is a large regional concentrated effort in six counties that aims to shift up and facilitate the transition to a fossil-free carrier so that the 2030 target for the transport sector (National climate target) can be achieved. The collection of forces consists of four collaborative projects, which together bring together six county administrative boards, five regions and about forty municipalities. The goal for Fossil-Free 2030 is for the participating public actors to achieve a fossil-independent vehicle fleet before the year 2030, thereby also facilitating the transition of the business and the public sectors. The projects' efforts will contribute to more sustainable travels, improved access to alternative modes of travel, improved infrastructure for refueling and charging of renewable fuels and an increased regional market for renewable fuels.

Opportunities6.2aPlease provide some key examples of how your city collaborates with business and/or industries in the table below.3Description of collaboration4Biogas Research Center (BRC). The purpose of BRC is to create a strong, national competence base that results in industrially and socially motivated research on and development of biogas solutions. The emphasis is on process and technology development, supplemented with systems and social research to analyze resource efficiency as well as societal and business conditions, as this type of knowledge is central for resource-efficient biogas solutions to be implemented.
