The per capita reduction between 2018 and 2019 was 2,1%. There was a reduction of emissions from the energy sector, but it was negatively compensated by increase of emissions from transport sector (passenger cars).

City-wide Emissions4.9Does your city have a consumption-based inventory to measure emissions from consumption of goods and services by your residents?2Provide an overview and attach your consumption-based inventory if relevant1Please completeWe are very well aware of the fact that what is needed from a global Point of view, and to be in line with the Paris agreement, is to see the emissions from a consumption perspective. However, this kind of data does not exist on local level in Sweden. Quite rough data are available on national level (about 8 tons CO2e per capita), and a good guess is that Växjö is somewhere around that, possibly a bit less due to our high share of renewable energy. Even if we cannot monitor the progress in consumption-based emissions, we are carrying out actions that would help to decrease those emissions. but, together with other Swedish municipalities (Klimatkommunerna) and within a pilot Project connected to our participation in OPCC, we explore this even further. Hopefully we will have rough estimation on local level within shortly.the Climate goal in our Sustainability program is formulated so that it can be adopted also on consumption based emissions.
