This achievement has been granted to San Borja by the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) for the different environmental action plans that have been developed in the district to reduce the environmental impacts generated by the different factors involved in the development and population growth.

On the other hand, San Borja has a fire station within the district who are prepared with modern equipment to deal with any type of natural disaster within the area in addition to this the Municipality of San Borja has the Human Security Management within which is as a subunit Civil Defense.The Civil Defense Unit is responsible for coordinating the planning and implementation of actions with the members of the Working Group and the Platform for compliance with Prospective, Corrective and Reactive Management, in order to safeguard the life and integrity of the population in the face of emergencies or Disasters to which we are permanently exposed.The main objective of the Civil Defense Unit is to ensure the protection of neighbors, adopting measures of prevention and immediate assistance in cases of emergencies or disasters, protecting their lives and physical integrity, their property and the environment.
