1632185Bristol City CouncilUnited Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern IrelandEurope2. Climate Hazards and Vulnerability2.0aPlease select the primary process or methodology used to undertake the risk and vulnerability assessment of your city.2Description1Risk assessment methodologyOverall approach founded on ISO standard 14091. Focus on i) hazard exposure (five climate hazards - flooding & sea level rise, extreme heat, drought, extreme cold; and storms & high winds - only the first four carried through to next steps), ii) qualitative sensitivity analysis (based on literature review) for physical, social and business & economy assets and iii) adaptive capacity assessment (limited to key planning and implementation activity currently underway). Assessment considered RCP4.5 (50th percentile) and RCP8.5 (90th percentile) emissions scenarios, used Bristol climate data from UK climate projections (UKCP18) and city's flood maps (not detailed spatial analysis). Hazard exposure assessment - allocated likelihood and confidence rating - for 2050 & 2080. Sensitivity of assets assessment - allocated consequence and confidence rating - 2050 only. Adaptive capacity assessment - mapped key activities for four climate hazards.

Climate Hazards and Vulnerability2.0dIf the city’s climate change risk assessment has been conducted more than 4 years ago, what update/revision process does your city have in place?1Update/revision process in place1Update/revision processPlan to revise/update assessment 2-5 years from now
1912185Bristol City CouncilUnited Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern IrelandEurope2. Climate Hazards and Vulnerability2.0dIf the city’s climate change risk assessment has been conducted more than 4 years ago, what update/revision process does your city have in place?2Provide more details on the update / revision process for your climate risk or vulnerability assessment1Update/revision processThe update/revision process is integrated into the delivery process for the One City Climate Strategy (OCCS). The Bristol Advisory Committee on Climate Change will review progress producing biennial reports on both adaptation and mitigation. There is also a commitment to develop a clear framework for monitoring and review of the OCCS. Detailed delivery plans will be produced to take forward the actions set out in the OCCS. This will include activities which build on the Preliminary Climate Resilience Assessment. These actions will enhance the evidence base on climate risks, undertake more detailed vulnerability assessments and build on adaptive capacity.
