The city’s economy is in a good spot. Community members regularly engage in local activities. The city, which has been divided into 25 communities, is also safe and has been awarded the Sustainable City Award in the environment category. Phichit lies in lower northern Thailand, about 350km north of Bangkok and takes around five hours to reach the city via car and train. The terrain is central plains. The Nan River cuts through the city, dividing it into two parts. With its large freshwater known as Bueng Si Fai, the city’s rich in biodiversity. The city’s average temperature is between 30.2 - 40 degrees Celsius with average precipitation reaching 911.3 millimetres per year. A large majority of local people is native while the remaining is non-registered Population. Local people are kind and considerate in general and still into traditional events, including boat racing which can be traced back to the Ayutthaya period. The city has no large school buildings and factories. Local people are mostly employees, businessmen and farmers. This data is collected through the CDP-ICLEI Unified Reporting System. When using this data, please cite both organisations using the following wording: ‘This data was collected in partnership by CDP and ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability’.
This dataset contains a subset of the related full cities dataset, covering GHG emissions inventory and mitigation action questions for publicly disclosing cities in 2021. The platform is still open and the dataset is updated daily to reflect new submissions.
