If so, please describe the expected outcome of the policy.2Please describe the expected outcome of the policy1Please completeThere are several policies Newark is taking to increase the consumption of locally grown foods. The Newark Office of Sustainability project, the "Nourishing Newark," is an initiative designed to help Newarkers quickly and easily find fresh, healthy foods grown and sold in the community. Newark Science and Sustainability developed a farm to table system in which shareholders within the community support a farm operation; individuals are able to make an advance payment of $395 to receive weekly fresh, locally grown produce packages, feeding 2 to 4 people for 20 weeks (June – October). This also comes with cooking demonstrations, nutrition fact sheets, conversations with the farmers, and so much more.
