142660Cities 2021202131446Taipei City GovernmentTaiwan, Greater ChinaEast Asia1. Governance and Data ManagementGovernance1.0Please detail sustainability goals and targets (e.g. GHG reductions) that are incorporated into your city’s master plan and describe how these are addressed in the table below.2Description71. In Taipei City, there are only a handful of areas engaging in quality agricultural farming in the City, and the size of which is about 3,233.38 hectares (accounts for 11% of the City’s total land area). The number of farming households is 8,735, which yielded 1,884 tons of rice per year. The quantity of yielded rice is not large, most of the foods being supplied are from neighboring cities.2. Building on food safety, the City has set up a registration platform for food ingredients. Starting from 2018, the Market Administration Office has assisted and supported venders who sell food and beverages in public-owned markets. Between 2019 and 2020, we have helped 646 food venders to complete their registration. Following the principle of food frugality, the food-sharing platform for unused foods was also implemented, through the integration of 7 public markets and the Taipei Agricultural Products Marketing Corporation to donate vegetables and fruits to social welfare groups. Up to the end of 2020, 43,822 kilograms have been donated to those in need, benefiting 88,765 person-times.3. The City has established the “Suspended Meal Supply Stations” since 2009, combined with private donations, social welfare centers, and collaboration of charity stores (i.e. lunch box stores, noodle shops, traditional snack bars) in the local district. Meal Vouchers made by social workers are given to disadvantaged families in need, where they can go to the stores and exchange the voucher for a meal. Social workers will regularly retrieve the vouchers from charitable stores for write-off, and pay the stores using donations.4. Taipei City Government established the “Goods Bank” in 2011 with 23 storage locations, receiving donations of goods and money donated by private organizations, companies and enterprises and individuals. A total of 116,943 foods (such as noodles, oatmeal, supplemental drinks, milk powder) and daily necessities (such as diapers, toiletries) have been linked by the end of 2020. Upon evaluation by social workers, the goods will be sent to disadvantaged families in need. The number of beneficiaries reached 173,028 people.01/20/2022 02:27:05
