150418Cities 2021202131165Stadt HeidelbergGermanyEurope1. Governance and Data ManagementGovernance1.0Please detail sustainability goals and targets (e.g. GHG reductions) that are incorporated into your city’s master plan and describe how these are addressed in the table below.2Description7The first traffic management plan has been adopted in 1994 and updated in 2001. It defines the the overall targets for sustainable traffic in Heidelberg and its implementation in all relevant municipal sections. The City council adopted on 7th May 2020 the newest revision of this traffic management plan. It has been developed with conusltants including a citywide citizens participation. The base for the update are the „Sustainable Development Goals“ (SDG) for sustainable development of the United Nations. The analysis shows that Heidelberg has already good results in traffic share: foot 29%, cycling 29%, train and bus 13%. The share of public transport is fairly high in Heidelberg in comparison with other german cities. Therefore it will be difficult to lower the percentage of cars 29% signivicantly. As a result the focus in traffic planning in Heidelberg will be the promotion of public transport, cyling and walking with the main target group of commuters. (Source: germanwide study "Mobilität in Städten – System repräsentativer Verkehrsbefragungen (SrV)“)More information about the Heidelberg traffic plan see www.heidelberg.de/vep.Besides that there are some more target plans concerning mobility planning in Heidelberg like the Green-City-Masterplan „Sustainable Mobility for the City“ for clean air (under 40 microgramm pro m³ nitrogen oxides). This concept has been developed as a cross municipal plan of three cities: Heidelberg, Mannheim and Ludwigshafen with several other regional mobility partners and adopted in 2018. The main goal is clean air in the region. It has four main measurement sections:- digitalisation of traffic- intelligent networking in public transport- promotion of cycling- electrification of traffic- further development of urban logisticMore information can be found here: www.heidelberg.de/hd,Lde/HD/Leben/masterplan+nachhaltige+mobilitaet.htmlOne focus of the environmentally friendly traffic planning in Heidelberg is the promotion of bicycle traffic. A number of measures have recently been implemented for this purpose. e. g. the expansion of bike paths at the expense of parking areas. One focus is the expansion of cycle superhighways.01/20/2022 02:27:05
