Development proposals are expected to include a sufficient package of measures to ensure journeys by private car are minimised and journeys by sustainable modes are supported in line with the transport hierarchy within Policy 14 of the Core Strategy. Where parking is provided, the Council will encourage and support the provision of infrastructure to support the use of low emission vehicles. Proposed and existing cycle routes will be safeguarded.Nottingham also has a Local Transport Plan Strategy 2011-2026, a 15 year strategy for Nottingham’s transport network. This has been developed with a view to achieving wider health, socio-economic and environmental benefits to local citizens and businesses. Maintaining current transport assets, the role of transport in supporting neighbourhood transformation, enabling enterprise, and providing and enhancing the sustainable transport system are core themes of the strategy. The Local Transport Plan Strategy is currently being reviewed in the light of COVID-19 impacts, and is expected summer 2021.01/20/2022 02:27:05
