Introduction0.1Please give a general description and introduction to your city including your city’s reporting boundary in the table below.2Description of city1Please completeLa Junta Intermunicipal de Medio Ambiente del Ayuquila Alto (JIDELAA), está conformada por nueve municipios ubicados en las Regiones Sierra de Amula (Atengo, Ayutla, Chiquilistlán, Cuautla, Juchitlán, Tecolotlán y Tenamaxtlán) y Región Lagunas (Atemajac de Brizuela y Tapalpa) de acuerdo a la regionalización administrativa del estado de Jalisco, este Organismo Público Descentralizado Intermunicipal (OPDI) tiene como objetivo general dar apoyo técnico a los municipios que la conforman para la elaboración, gestión e implementación de proyectos y programas relacionados con el medio ambiente y manejo de los recursos naturales de aplicación en sus territorios, de acuerdo a las facultades y atribuciones que tienen los Municipios en las leyes federales y estatales sobre temas como: Medio Ambiente y Ecología, Planeación Territorial, Cambio Climático, Manejo, Aprovechamiento y Restauración de Ecosistemas, Servicios Municipales, Manejo de Residuos, Saneamiento de Ríos, Manejo Adecuado de Aguas Residuales entre otras.Está ubicada en el suroeste del Estado de Jalisco, entre los 19°41’00’’-20°26’00’’ de latitud Norte y 103°30’00’’-104°46’00’’ de longitud Oeste. La región abarca una superficie de 4,314.38 km2, que representan el 5% de la extensión del Estado de Jalisco, y que es comparable al territorio del Estado de Tlaxcala y equivalente al 75% del área del Estado de Colima. Tiene alturas que van de los 860 a 2880 msnm, El territorio de la JIDELAA, pertenece a la cuenca del Río Ayuquila-Armería que tiene una superficie total de 9, 864 km2, pasa por los estados de Jalisco y Colima. En la JIDELAA existe una población de 85,070 habitantes (INEGI 2020), donde más del 40 % se encuentra en áreas urbanas. Los distintos usos del agua de la cuenca son, en primer lugar el uso agrícola, después el uso urbano para el agua potable y por último el uso pecuario.
