Vegetarian food option is available for students every day in upper secondary schools and vocational education institutions. Day-care centres and schools have a vegetarian food day once a week and vegetarian food is available daily on request. Vegetarian food is mainly lacto-ovovegetarian in school, i.e. it contains not only vegetarian products but also milk and eggs. In 2020, forty schools and day care centres started an experiment that offers two lunch options every day: vegetarian food and non-vegetarian food. This approach will be gradually expanded so that by 2022 at the latest, vegetarian food will be available as one of the lunch option in all day-care centres, schools and educational institutions in Tampere. In 2019 9% in catering services had a vegetarian option, the target for 2030 is that 90% of them have a vegetarian option.01/20/2022 02:27:05
