Governance and Data ManagementGovernance1.0Please detail sustainability goals and targets (e.g. GHG reductions) that are incorporated into your city’s master plan and describe how these are addressed in the table below.2Description8Part 1 of the Local Plan, adopted in March 2015 is called the Core Strategy and Urban Core Plan (CSUCP). The Development and Allocations Plan (DAP) is Part 2 and provides more detailed policies to support our growth ambitions for Newcastle. The Development and Allocations Plan was formally adopted by Newcastle City Council on 24 June 2020.Within Newcastle’s Development and Allocations Plan (DAP), there are a number of climate and sustainability policies as listed below:1) Requiring Sustainable Travel Policy DM10 (Pedestrian and Cycle Movement) requires developments to provide safe, convenient, attractive and continuous pedestrian and cycle links to key local facilities and services and demonstrate that new developments are within acceptable walking and cycling distance of key local facilities and services.Policy DM11 (Public Transportation) requires major developments to facilitate the use of public transport and designates park and ride facilities. 2) Design Policy DM20 (Design) requires climate measures to be incorporated into developments to address the impacts of climate change and high quality inclusive spaces and buildings which promote active and healthy lifestyles.3) Environmental and Health Impacts of DevelopmentPolicy DM24 (Environmental and Health Impacts of Development) requires developments to mitigate impacts on and improve air quality and address other environmental impacts including noise and land contamination. 4) Flood Risk Policy DM26 (Flood Risk and Water Management) gives consideration to immediate and future flood risk both on the site and elsewhere requiring a range of measures including Sustainable Urban Drainage Schemes.5) Green Infrastructure ProvisionPolicy DM27 (Protecting and Enhancing Green Infrastructure) aims to protect and enhance green infrastructure for climate mitigation, among other benefits. New green infrastructure will be required to incorporate climate change mitigation measures. 6) Trees and Landscaping and Open SpacePolicy DM28 (Trees and Landscaping) includes a focus on the use of new trees and landscape features to reduce or mitigate run-off and flood risk.Policy DM30 requires protection and provision of new open space setting standards for parks and recreation, play space, natural green space, amenity green space and allotments which will be used alongside Policy DM28.01/20/2022 02:27:05

345621Cities 2021202131151Stadt BaselSwitzerlandEurope8. Energy8.3aPlease provide details on your city’s energy efficiency targets.9Plans to meet target (include details on types of energy in thermal /electricity)2Large-scale consumers with an annual heat consumption of more than 5 GWh or an annual electricity consumption of more than 0.5 GWh are obliged to analyse their energy consumption and to implement reasonable measures to reduce consumption within five years. Alternatively, medium- and long-term consumption targets (reduction path) can be agreed upon. Around 100 businesses are affected. Currently (as of 2017), around 18 companies in Basel-Stadt have a target agreement with the EnAW. Eight of them have been exempted from the CO2 tax.The implementation of the regulation for large-scale consumers and the target agreements in the Energy Model / SME Model result in an efficiency increase of around 0.5 to 2 percent per company and year, or an overall reduction of 8 to 20 percent within a commitment period of 10 years. In 2009, the final energy consumption of large-scale consumers in the canton of Basel-Stadt was around 1,440 GWh. Assuming an efficiency increase of 8 to 12 percent within a commitment period, between 115 GWh and 170 GWh of energy can be saved.Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)01/20/2022 02:27:05
