Transport10.1What is the mode share of each transport mode in your city for passenger transport?9Other1Please completeMaking the transport system more sustainable is a key issue for making Elsinore greener. In general, the infrastructure of Elsinore is well connected throughout the town. Both cycling paths and public transport connects almost every corner of Elsinore. Despite the well-connected infrastructure, data shows that 55% of all travels are made by car, and 53% of our citizens commute more than 10 km.With The Mobility Plan 2015 – 2020, Elsinore has a strategical approach in using the potential of the well-combined infrastructure to get more citizens to use a greener alternative than the car.Better and more bicycle parking at the Elsinore station and more parking lots at Espergaerde Station makes multimodality more appealing. To make the greener transport systems more attractive, Elsinore collaborates in different programs within the Capital Region, such as the so-called “super cycle highway” program.Yearly a transport behaviour questionnaire is conducted to estimate the transport mode share01/20/2022 02:27:05

363635Cities 2021202131169Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative RegionChina, Hong Kong Special Administrative RegionEast Asia14. Water SecurityWater Supply Management14.3Please select the actions you are taking to reduce the risks to your city’s water security.4Action description and implementation progress4The Hong Kong Government promulgated the Total Water Management Strategy (the Strategy) in 2008 mapping out the strategy for sustainable use of water to ensure water security and support the development in Hong Kong. We completed a review on the Strategy in 2019 and updated the Strategy which adopts a two-pronged approach, with emphasis on containing fresh water demand growth and building resilience in the fresh water supply catering for extreme effects of climate change with diversified water resources. The water management measures are as follows:Water Conservation We have been taking a multi-pronged approach to promote water conservation using both hardware and software measures, including Water Efficiency Labelling Scheme, automatic meter reading, installation of flow controllers at housing estates and schools, public education, best practice guidelines for major water-consuming trades, etc.Water Loss Management Having achieved significant reduction in water mains leakage through the 15-year replacement and rehabilitation programme (substantially completed in 2015) for 3,000–kilometres (km) aged water mains, we are progressively establishing the Water Intelligent Network (WIN) to continuously monitor fresh water distribution network healthiness for timely and appropriate interventions to reduce water loss in the network. (For details of WIN, see Risk Item “Inadequate or ageing water supply infrastructure” below.)Expansion of Use of Lower Grade WaterWe target at expanding the network coverage of using lower grade water (viz. seawater and recycled water) for flushing from 85% of total population to 90% in the long run. We are implementing waterworks projects for supplying reclaimed water to Sheung Shui & Fanling areas and treated grey water to the Anderson Road Quarry Development. In addition, we encourage wider adoption of grey water recycling and rainwater harvesting systems by promulgating internal guidelines for installing these water recycling facilities in new government buildings and providing incentives through the Building Environmental Assessment Method (BEAM) Plus Assessment Tool. We will continue to review the extension of supply of lower grade water to new development areas and other areas being supplied with fresh water for flushing.01/20/2022 02:27:05
