Governance and Data ManagementGovernance1.0Please detail sustainability goals and targets (e.g. GHG reductions) that are incorporated into your city’s master plan and describe how these are addressed in the table below.2Description17It is well understood that Green Infrastructure and nature-based solutions can provide a wide range of social, economic, and environmental benefits including mitigating the impacts of extreme weather and flooding, enhancing environmental quality, sustainable food production, supporting biodiversity, health and wellbeing. Therefore, Sunderland’s Core Strategy and Development Plan has a spatial vision that by 2033 the city will have a high-quality natural environment.Policy NE1 of the Plan (Green and blue infrastructure) seeks to protect the environment by maintaining and improving the Green and Blue Infrastructure Network. To achieve this, the policy seeks to ensure that new development: incorporates existing and/or new green infrastructure features within their design; addresses corridor gaps where feasible; supports the management of existing wildlife corridors; applies climate change mitigation and adaptation measures, including flood risk and watercourse management; links walking and cycling routes to and through corridors; and protects, enhances and restores natural green and blue space. The Plan is supported by a Habitats Regulations Assessment and supporting Mitigation Strategy which set out how the impacts upon the Natura 2000 sites along the coast will be carefully managed. The Council has previously consulted on a Draft Biodiversity Supplementary Planning Document Scoping Report which sets out how the Council will seek to deliver biodiversity net gains in the future. It is intended that the document will be progressed further once the Environment Bill passes through Parliament and further information is known on its requirements. An Interim Biodiversity Strategy is currently being prepared to guide new development within the Washington area where a significant level of development is proposed, which will inform the mitigation approach taken more widely across the city in advance of the SPD being progressed.01/19/2022 02:30:06

Transport10.3Please provide the total fleet size and number of vehicle types for the following modes of transport.5Number of taxis4Plug in hybridDo not have exact figures on the number of private cars, buses, taxis, freight, customer-drive carshares, and transport network company fleet sizes. While a vehicle miles traveled (VMT) study was conducted for Aspen emissions inventory boundary (EIB) to support the GHG inventories, it reports figures in VMT rather than actual number of cars and freight vehicles. But, there are exact numbers of vehicles listed based on vehicle registrations for private cars and freight vehicles in the whole of Pitkin County. As such, the figures listed in those columns here are estimates based on the proportions of population between Pitkin County and the EIB.The City of Aspen runs a 10-car carshare program that has 9 hybrid vehicles and one all-electric vehicle. These are not reported in the carshare column as they are owned and operated by the City of Aspen. The municipal fleet column also includes all trucks that are in the municipal fleet.01/19/2022 02:30:06

Governance and Data ManagementGovernance1.0Please detail sustainability goals and targets (e.g. GHG reductions) that are incorporated into your city’s master plan and describe how these are addressed in the table below.2Description22022 Targets that will contribute to reducing GHGs emissions:1)The Mayor of Freetown set the goal to increase tree and vegetation cover by 50% from 2018 levels by 2022 as a core component of the Resilience Pillar in the Transform Freetown Agenda. To get there, the target is to plant and grow 1 million trees across the 13 Catchment areas of the Western Area Peninsula. Early calculations estimate 25,000 tCO2e absorbed annually.2) Ensure that 60% of Freetown’s solid and liquid waste is safely collected, managed and disposed of by 20223 )Ensure that 40% of all plastic waste in Freetown is recycled by 20224) Reduce congestion by at least 50% in five locations by 2022 (Congo Cross, Eastern Police, Lumley/Juba, Wilberforce/Bottom Mango, and Wellington/PMB Junction). This will be achieved thanks to (i) Design a controlled parking zone scheme for the Central Business District (CBD), (ii) Providing a school bus service, (iii) Create a Bus system available to the public.5 )Conduct a pre-feasibility study on cable car system for Freetown. It is estimated that the project, moving 126,000 passengers per day, will reduce emissions for 41,370 tCO2e per year.6) Collection of waste in hard to reach areas and reducing waste through composting at community level.(source Transform Freetown - One Year and Two Year Report)01/19/2022 02:30:06
