Así mismo se caracteriza por ser el municipio capital de departamento más joven con tan solo 77 años de vida jurídico-administrativa y hoy en su parte rural lo conforman 11 corregimientos (El Charte, Mata de Limón, La Chaparrera, El Morro, El Taladro, Punto Nuevo, Quebradaseca, Morichal, Tacarimena, Tilodirán, Alcaraván la Niata) y 96 veredas. La parte urbana está conforma por 7 comunas (Comuna I Ciro Reina, Comuna II Calixto Zambrano, Comuna III Clelia Riveros de Prieto, Comuna IV Ciudad Campiña, Comuna V Javier Manuel Vargas Granados, Comuna VI Ciudadela Llano Lindo, Comuna VII Juan Nepomuceno Moreno) y 104 barrios. Municipio que tiene una extensión de 2.532 km2, que corresponde al 5,67% del total del departamento, cuyo territorio se caracteriza por presentar tres ecosistemas bien marcados, montaña que representa el 15% del área del municipio, piedemonte con el 20% y llanura 65%, caracterizados por tener potencialidades ambientales que son soportadas por dos grandes cuencas hidrográficas, Charte y Cravo sur, sobre las cuales están asentadas las actividades agropecuarias, los centros poblados y el crecimiento de la ciudad de Yopal. Municipio que tiene una excelente conectividad vial y aérea con el centro del país, así mismo cuenta con una comunicación terrestre permanente de la ciudad con los 11 centros poblados, con los 18 municipios del Departamento de Casanare y algunos municipios del departamento de Arauca. Yopal, como ciudad se caracteriza por poseer atributos especiales como es posicionamiento de la institucionalidad de orden departamental y la de orden nacional, el posicionamiento de las empresas operadoras de los proyectos mineros, agrícolas de gran escala y los proyectos ganaderos que se desarrollan en todo el departamento de Casanare, así mismo, se han posicionado centros de formación técnica, tecnológica y de educación superior de corte regional y servicios especializados de salud de segundo y tercer nivel de complejidad y últimamente plataformas de comercio de gran escala como centros y agencias comerciales y ha venido incursionando actividades deportivas orden competitivo y actividades culturales de orden regional. Estas características de Yopal, originaron una tasa de crecimiento del 7.5% anual durante el periodo 1993-2005 y 4.9% anual durante el periodo 2005-2018 (Datos Dane Censo 2018) tasas muy superiores al departamento que creció al 2.8%, al promedio nacional que creció al 1.01% y ciudades mayores como Bogotá, Medellín, Cali que crecieron al 0.9%. Yopal, además, de ser la segunda ciudad en importancia de la Orinoquia, ofrece comercio y servicios para el Departamento de Arauca, Vichada, Guainía, para 4 municipios de Boyacá y para los demás municipios del departamento de Casanare, convirtiéndose así en lugar estratégico, necesario para adelantar negocios, comercializar y transformar productos, adquirir bienes, comercio y servicios, para el lanzamiento de proyectos privados, para conectar y desarrollar las apuestas en turismo, ganadería, agricultura, minería que se extiende en los demás municipios de Casanare como en los departamentos vecinos. Estos factores son los que Yopal revela en la actualidad producto de su potencialidad, pero igualmente estamos convencidos que oculta enormes posibilidades para su desarrollo social y productivo y para posicionarse como un municipio global, ordenado e incluyente con oportunidades para los inversionistas y el crecimiento de su población en tema de bienestar y calidad de vida, además por ser una ciudad con potencial ambiental y ecoturístico.01/20/2022 02:27:05

This dataset contains a subset of the related full cities dataset, covering Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment and Adaptation Action questions for publicly disclosing cities in 2021. The platform is still open and the dataset is updated daily to reflect new submissions.
