Governance and Data ManagementGovernance1.0Please detail sustainability goals and targets (e.g. GHG reductions) that are incorporated into your city’s master plan and describe how these are addressed in the table below.2Description6The City is implementing a solid waste management system in consonance with the local ordinances and national laws and policies on waste management. A centralized composting facility is in operation to cater the biodegradable waste of the City. Residual wastes are disposed off in accredited safe disposal sites/sanitary landfill. Recyclable materials are recycled and reused. The presence of Materials Recovery Facilities in the barangays encouraged the segregation of waste from the source to complement the efficient collection and disposal of waste. The solid waste management system being implemented in the City is a mandatory requirement of the national government agency whcih is the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the Department of Interior and Local Government. Thus, waste management targets are totally mainstreamed into the master plan of the City and in the actual government operations as well.01/20/2022 02:27:05
