Governance and Data ManagementGovernance1.0Please detail sustainability goals and targets (e.g. GHG reductions) that are incorporated into your city’s master plan and describe how these are addressed in the table below.2Description4The adaptation action group is responsible for developing adaptation strategies, goals, and action plans to respond to the impacts and impacts of future climate change. It’s including Disasters, Health, Land Use, Energy Supply and Industry. In addition, there are also relevant adjustments in the four areas of subsistence infrastructure, water resources, coasts, agricultural production and biodiversity.Land Use:There are many of the low-lying areas in the New Taipei City, which are highly developed for applying to the urban land use. We are easily suffer from the impacts of climate change such as the extreme rainfall and high temperature result in the floods and Urban Heat Island Effect because the Tamsui River passes through lots of the urban areas. Therefore, New Taipei City developed adaptation strategies for land use, namely identifying vulnerable areas, reviewing land use in disaster potential areas, urban water retention and permeability, wastewater treatment plant, increasing green space, and considering urban heat island in architectural design. The following shows related amended strategies and goals:1.Enhance the control and management mechanism for slope area land development. By 2030, over 70% of the application for the permit of slope area construction will be required to install automatic monitoring equipment based on the more stringent miscellaneous review for slope area development permit.2.Improve the urban water retention and permeation mechanism. By 2030, the total water retention and permeation facilities of the building development projects will reach 3.22 million metric tons.3.Simple green beautification of idle public land to conserve water and enhance urban flood control and adaptation capabilities. By 2030, the Green Home Project initiated by the New Taipei City government will be responsible for the simple green beautification of a total of 220 hectares of land area.4.Extensive planting for major roads and routes to mitigate the urban heat island effect and reduce the area of bare soil. Nearly 1 million trees, shrubs, and ground covers would be planted annually, which would reach 10 million planted plants by 2030.5.Promote the eco-friendly farming program to reduce carbon emissions. The eco-friendly farmland area will increase by 20 hectares annually, and it is expected to reach 400 hectares by 2030.01/20/2022 02:27:05
