Introduction0.1Please give a general description and introduction to your city including your city’s reporting boundary in the table below.2Description of city1Please completeSt. Pete, FL on the Gulf Coast. A peninsula on Pinellas County peninsula on the Florida peninsula. Surrounded by water, and part of the Tampa Bay Region, always listed as one of the most vulnerable areas to climate change. We are the Sunshine City with a world record of the most days of sunshine. The city has 7 miles of downtown waterfront, a thriving downtown as well as many neighborhoods with their own character. The arts and culture available are always listed in top tiers across the country. Known as home to the Dali Museum and many, many more.St. Pete is a city of about 270,000, the 5th largest city in FL. St. Pete's target industries include Marine & Life Sciences, Data Analytics, Specialized Manufacturing, Creative Arts & Design, and Financial Services.St. Pete has been a strong mayor form of government for almost 20 years with a very hard working City Council and engaged community.St. Pete was Florida's "First Green City", with a long history of water conservation, active parks (still amazing parks) and conversion to CNG, but that was just a start. In the last several years, the city has gone from having no central focus on sustainability and just rolling out recycling to having an Office of Sustainability & Resiliency, bike share, solar co-ops, and solar financing programs, and more, all of which contributed to recently being recognized with an award in the Bloomberg American Cities Climate Challenge. Finally, St. Pete was the first city in Florida to commit to a transition to 100% Clean Energy.01/20/2022 02:27:05
