Têm população de 699.944 habitantes (Estimativa populacional/IBGE, 2020) e população flutuante de 2.665 (Pesquisa primária DEPI/SEPLAG, 2016). Apresenta 64,954 km² de área e é cortada pelo Rio Tietê, dividindo o município em Norte e Sul; todos os rios da cidade são drenados para aquele rio; situado no Planalto Atlântico, está localizada na bacia hidrográfica do Alto Tietê e na sub-bacia Pinheiros-Pirapora. Apresentando relevo ondulado, a cidade possui uma altitude média de 745 m, registrando altitudes próximas a 1000m no extremo norte. De acordo com a classificação de Koeppen, o clima de Osasco é caracterizado como Cwa, isto é, clima subtropical úmido; assim, a cidade possui verão úmido devido a massas de ar tropicais instáveis, e invernos secos (Fonte: CEPAGRI/UNICAMP). Embora extremamente urbanizado, o município possui 13 parques, 135 nascentes identificadas, destas 06 recuperadas. Quanto aos recursos da economia local e regional, Osasco é encabeçada atualmente pelos setores de Comércio e Serviços, que contam ambas com 44% dos estabelecimentos (RAIS/MTE, 2015), seguidas da Indústria (8%) e Construção Civil (4%). Apresenta como características únicas e atrações o seu PIB, 2º no Estado e tem a 8ª economia nacional, encabeçada principalmente pelos setores de Serviços e Comércio. No que tange às áreas de competitividade global e/ou econômica, os principais produtos exportados são: recipientes para gases comprimidos ou liquefeitos, peças e acessórios dos veículos automotores e instrumentos e aparelhos para medicina, que representam quase 50% do total de exportações. Quanto às mudanças na formação urbana e crescimento urbano em curto e médio prazos e mudanças previstas para médio e longo prazos, Osasco assiste a um movimento de crescimento urbano contido e gradual nas primeiras décadas do século XX (quando ainda era Vila de São Paulo) e passa por um crescimento urbano acentuado entre as décadas de 1940 e 1980, aumentando em muito o contingente populacional e pressionando a infraestrutura urbana de tal modo que se multiplicam as ocupações irregulares e precárias. Atualmente o município tem 100% de sua população urbanizada (Censo IBGE, 2010), porém os terrenos e áreas livres são escassos e por vezes sofrem processos de ocupações habitacionais, contribuindo no esgotamento das áreas livres disponíveis. Possui uma estrutura governamental constituída de possui 22 secretarias, 02 coordenadorias , conselhos, fundos, autarquias e outros, como a Guarda Civil Metropolitana e a Cia Municipal de Transportes de Osasco.01/20/2022 02:27:05

This data is collected through the CDP-ICLEI Unified Reporting System. When using this data, please cite both organisations using the following wording: ‘This data was collected in partnership by CDP and ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability’.
This dataset contains a subset of the related full cities dataset, covering Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment and Adaptation Action questions for publicly disclosing cities in 2021. The platform is still open and the dataset is updated daily to reflect new submissions.
