And they cope with this check. Since autumn, all city services have been working in high alert mode.The technology of snow removal in Moscow has been tested by heavy snowfalls and has repeatedly shown its effectiveness. It should start immediately after the snowfall. Unlike other world capitals, city services in Moscow do not have the right to leave snow on the sidewalks.The city determines specific deadlines for snow and ice removal on various road sections. They are first swept, then treated with anti-icing agents — the distribution machines move directly behind the column of snowplows.The rules prescribe that public utilities sweep snow on city roads and the MKAD after every five centimeters of precipitation falls. They should completely remove the snow roll on highways and major avenues. Also, specialists of the municipal economy complex should remove the roll from the sidewalks on highways and major avenues, the MKAD, the Third Transport Ring, the Garden and Boulevard Ring.Snow may remain on some streets, but the area of such sections should not exceed 30 percent of the road, they should be treated with crushed stone of a fraction of two to five millimeters.Five hours are allocated for anti-icing treatment of sidewalks on district roads and small roads, highways and major avenues, the MKAD, the TTK, the Garden and Boulevard Ring.Snow removal from sidewalks on district roads and small roads should be completed in 12 hours. This data is collected through the CDP-ICLEI Unified Reporting System. When using this data, please cite both organisations using the following wording: ‘This data was collected in partnership by CDP and ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability’.
This dataset contains a subset of the related full cities dataset, covering Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment and Adaptation Action questions for publicly disclosing cities in 2021. The platform is still open and the dataset is updated daily to reflect new submissions.
