Governance and Data ManagementGovernance1.0Please detail sustainability goals and targets (e.g. GHG reductions) that are incorporated into your city’s master plan and describe how these are addressed in the table below.2Description2.1.Adaptation actions for population and public health:-start developing policies that promote Adopt healthy buildings, through formulation building guidelines which include instructions for advanced sanitary installation that separate grey water from black water;-Sustaining and improving sanitary conditions.2.Adaptation actions for infrastructure:Water Resources:The main climate hazards that the water sector faces in Palestine are temperature increases, precipitation decreases, increased incidents of drought and increased evaporation. Climate sensitivity indicators in the water sector were determined as reduced groundwater recharge, groundwater quality deterioration, stream flow reduction and increased water demand. Adaptation strategies and measures for the water sector on local level are:-Rainwater harvesting-Wastewater treatment-Increasing Efficiency of irrigation technologies-Grey water Reuse-Public awareness.3.Adaptation actions for built environmentAdaptation measures suggested for the urban sector -Introduce climate responsive building techniques and elements to reduce the effect of heat and reduce demand on energy for cooling;-Promote the use of energy saving devices, and raise awareness on the long-term benefits of energy efficiency and saving devices;-Amendments to sector policies and regulations, such as building codes, to reflect climate change risks and direct people towards insulating buildings to reduce energy demand;-Construct proper storm water network to discharge storm water from built environment;.4.Adaptation actions for biodiversityThe expected impacts from climate change on ecosystems in Palestine according to climate exposure and sensitivity of ecosystems are droughts, forest dieback, and community composition change, expansion of drier biomes into marginal lands, habitat degradation and Species loss. actions done:Establishment of a fire management plan Early warning system for fire hazards Educating the citizens Fragmenting the forest into section to allow better fire management Planning, construction and maintenance of forest roads Trees planting01/20/2022 02:27:05

OpportunitiesOpportunities6.0Please indicate the opportunities your city has identified as a result of addressing climate change and describe how the city is positioning itself to take advantage of these opportunities.2Describe how the city is maximizing this opportunity1El consumo de electricidad representa actualmente el 36% de las emisiones totales de GEI municipal.

Please provide details on the boundary of your plan, and where this differs from your city’s boundary, please provide an explanation.11Describe the synergies, trade-offs, and co-benefits of this interaction1During the development of the GM 5YEP the synergies, trade-off and co-benefits were considered and this has continued into the delivery. The GM 5YEP addresses several key themes:1) Energy2) Transport and travel3) Homes, workplaces and public buildings4)Production and consumption of resources5) Natural Environment 6) Resilience and adaptation to climate changeThe links within the chapters (synergies) between actions to address air quality, health and transport/mitigation exist. As delivery has accelerated synergies have also been established between key areas such as energy and buildings in areas such as decarbonisation of heat and retrofit. Circular economy is also an area that has been identified as a key synergy across all thematic areas with particular relevance to buildings. The natural environment and resilience/adaptation themes also have close synergies particularly with the actions relating to nature based solutions. The final sections of the 5YEP outline the wider co-benefits of implementing climate action. The economic opportunities are considered to prevent GM's climate aims from limiting economic growth and instead minimise costs of services, creating jobs and reducing future costs of delayed climate action. Health and social benefits such as impacts of air quality especially on low income communities, access to green space and warm housing. Throughout the form particularly in section 5 and 6 we will go into more detail on the co-benefits provided byt the projects that GM is delivering as part of the 5YEP.ALONG WITH THE LINK TO THE 5YEPATTACHMENTS ARE PROVIDED TO QUARTERLY PROGRESS UPDATES AND THE 2019-2020 ANNUAL REPORT CAN BE VIEWED ON THE LINK BELOW:http://media.ontheplatform.org.uk/sites/default/files/GMCA%20Environment%20Report%202019-20.pdf01/20/2022 02:27:05
