Sustainability Reserve Funds New Initiative:The Environmental Sustainability Reserve was created in 2020 to provide a source of funding for initiatives that mitigate emissions, improve resiliency and preparedness to climate change, and improve environmental sustainability. Projects chosen for funding best demonstrate Triple Bottom Line benefits, leverage third-party funding, conserve resources, and support sustainability criteria. The Home Energy Loan Program (HELP) was the first project chosen for funding. Recommended projects for 2021, 2022, and 2023 are: Sustainable Food Pilot, Climate Adaptation, Traditional Land Use and Knowledge Assessment, Electric Vehicle Adoption Roadmap, Street Garden Expansion, and Energy Assistance Program. The projects are valued at approximately $1 million.Green and Inclusive Community Buildings:The City has applied for funding to retrofit two City-owned facilities that are accessible to the community (public and private functions).Albert Community Centre: The proposed retrofits include accessibility updates, energy efficiency updates, public safety improvements, and renewal of a designated heritage facility. The building is primarily used by non-profit organizations and private groups that rely on the building’s affordable rental rates. Funding for the project will enable the building to continue to offer affordable rates to underserved and high-needs groups in Saskatoon.Harry Bailey Aquatic Centre: The proposed retrofits include accessibility upgrades, new accessible and private change rooms, significant energy and water efficiency updates, public safety improvements, competitive pool upgrades to better serve community organizations and renewal of a heavily utilized community building in the core of the city along a primary transit route. Description
This data is collected through the CDP-ICLEI Unified Reporting System. When using this data, please cite both organisations using the following wording: ‘This data was collected in partnership by CDP and ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability’.
This dataset contains a subset of the related full cities dataset, covering Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment and Adaptation Action questions for publicly disclosing cities in 2021. The platform is still open and the dataset is updated daily to reflect new submissions.
To view the cities 2021 questionnaire guidance, including all questions asked to cities in 2021, visit https://www.cdp.net/en/guidance/guidance-for-cities.
For any questions, including guidance on how to reference this data in your own work, please contact cities@cdp.net.
Please note that this dataset may contain data from cities or, in some instances, groups of cities at different administrative levels. This includes metropolitan areas, combined authorities, and some regional councils.
When using the inventory data for aggregation, comparison and trend analysis, please note that the inventory data is based on non-verified self-reported city inputs. The reported inventory may not include all emission sources within the city boundary.
