Climate Hazards and VulnerabilityClimate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment2.0aPlease select the primary process or methodology used to undertake the risk and vulnerability assessment of your city.2Description1Risk assessment methodologyThe assessment methodology adopted by the City is officially recognized by the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) as a framework for climate risk assessment and management. The assessment methodology, Taiwan’s Climate Change Adaptation Six Steps (CCA6Steps), is mainly based on the IPCC AR5 definition of climate risk in the TaiCCAT project conducted by the Ministry of Science and Technology. The CCA6Steps integrates and combines the steps listed in both domestic and international climate change adaptation framework, including the UNDP APF, UKCIP Adaptation Wizard, CLIMATE-ADAPT Adaptation Support Tool, and Taiwan’s climate change adaptation plans. The CCA6Steps consists of the following steps: (1) Identifying Problems and Objectives, (2) Assessing and Analyzing Current Risk, (3) Assessing and Analyzing Future Risk, (4) Identifying and Assessing Adaptation Options, (5) Planning and Implementing Adaptation Pathway, and (6) Monitoring and Modifying Adaptation Pathway. The “Climate Risk Template” (aligning with step 2-3) and “Climate Risk Maps” (according to step2-4) are proposed as interdisciplinary climate risk analysis tools based on the procedure of CCA6Steps, and the tools are used for Taipei City’s climate risk assessment. The Climate Risk Template not only comforms to the vulnerability definition of ISO 14091 and IPCC AR5 and the assessment framework of ISO14092 and IPCC AR5, but also allows interdisciplinary integration, enabling experts from different research areas to conduct climate risk assessment and risk communication based on the same standard.01/20/2022 02:27:05
