Hace parte de la provincia de Soto y junto con Girón, Bucaramanga y Piedecuesta conforman el área metropolitana de Bucaramanga. Se encuentra ubicado a 7 km de Bucaramanga y cuenta con una extensión aproximada de 97 km2, ocupa el 6,59% del área total metropolitana, se encuentra a 925 msnm y registra una temperatura promedio de 23 °C. El área urbana del municipio corresponde a 15,13 km2 y el área rural a 81,87 km2 .La mitad de su población son jóvenes y niños, y la otra mitad hacen parte de la comunidad trabajadora y fuerza productiva, Floridablanca cuenta con más de 5 microempresas y empresas de carácter familiar constituidas formalmente, dedicadas a la fabricación de dulces artesanales, pupa de frutas, en mayor proporción, además confecciones, calzado, ebanistería y la industria metalmecánica, así mismo cuenta con importantes sitios turísticos, reservas naturales, entre otros.Se encuentra ubicado en la zona montañosa, al occidente de la cordillera oriental, lo que permite ubicar terrenos en las mesetas y en el macizo de Santander con gran variedad de fauna y flora.Floridablanca es conocida por sus obleas, su turismo, sus parques, sus centros comerciales, sus clínicas, su educación de calidad y ha sido polo del progreso de la región durante los últimos años ha contribuido con un gran aporte al desarrollo de la región, su crecimiento urbanístico va acorde con las necesidades del Área Metropolitana de Bucaramanga.Actualmente el municipio de Floridablanca se ha conurbado con Bucaramanga, su comunicación principal se hace a lo largo de la autopista a Piedecuesta, la antigua carretera a Floridablanca y la transversal oriental.El municipio cuenta dentro de su perímetro urbano con 17.452 viviendas, 6.515 apartamentos, que cuentan con servicio de agua potable, el acueducto del área urbana de Floridablanca toma el agua de los ríos Tona y Rio frío; las viviendas que tienen servicio de alcantarillado en el casco urbano son las mismas que tienen servicio de agua potable. This dataset contains a subset of the related full cities dataset, covering Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment and Adaptation Action questions for publicly disclosing cities in 2021. The platform is still open and the dataset is updated daily to reflect new submissions.
