AdaptationAdaptation Goals3.3Please describe the main goals of your city’s adaptation efforts and the metrics / KPIs for each goal.7Comment1The City needs to address food security in order to propel itself forward towards its vision of being globally competitive, attaining inclusive and balanced development and enhancing the quality of life of each Zamboanga citizen are identified. The ability to meet the most basic of human needs such as food, shelter, clothing, and clean water is essential for human and thus societal development. The attainment of these basic needs are said to be the predominant objective and thus provide great motivation for people when they are unmet. Also, the need to fulfill these needs become stronger if they are denied. However, once these needs are attained persons shall be equipped to strive and pursue for deeper human development goals making them more capable and empowered. Currently, the City still need to provide for a lot of these basic needs. Incidence of informal settlements is still notably high with 24,202 households living in informal settlements. Food Sufficiency is still not attained since most of the food products of the City are sourced from its neighboring provinces. Eleven (11) barangays still do not have access to basic water sources and this situation worsens when El Nino or drought is experienced in the City.01/20/2022 02:27:05
