A multi-sector coalition has recommended that the Regional Transit Authority (RTD) expand access and use of transit by offering a range of discounted passes and fares for riders in the Denver metro area, including youth and low-income riders. This discounted fare program would incentivize riders to use transit rather than individual vehicles, thereby reducing vehicle emissions that contribute to a warming climate. The program will also help youth and low-income riders achieve economic resiliency by reducing the share of their income spent on transportation. Depending on the number of days that would need to be offset, the costs could be less than indicated below. | 01/20/2022 02:27:05 | |||
