This puts the Agriculture Sector at the spotlight as growth on the sector has been consistently behind the Industry and Services sector. To arrest this deteriorating condition of the Agriculture and Fishery, which despite being a laggard in terms of regional accounts remains to constitute bulk of the regional employment, programs on agri-fishery development will be pursued, as follow:a) Establishment of Demo Sites for Farm Tourism; Urban gardening Container/Backyard Garden; and establishment of cassava processing center at barangay Dita. b) Consultancy services for the conduct of feasibility study of Limaong Island Farm-to-Market Road; c) Demonstration farm on glutinous corn; d) Construction/Rehabilitation/Improvement of Agricultural and Fishery Field Offices with Storage Facility in the six (6) Agricultural Districts/Field Offices; e) Establishment of fish cages at barangays Pangapuyan Island, Limpapa, Mulu-muluan, Mercedes, Bolong, Dita and Mangusu; f) Acquisition of lot for fishery checkpoint at barangay Licomo, ;g) Establishment of aqua-silviculture project; and h) Livelihood projects for women and youth on backyard animal production. Production Support Services:As part of the pandemic contingency plan for food production sustainability, is to increase certified seeds usage and increased the farmer’s income. In 2020, A total of 25 bags of 50 kgs registered rice seeds (PSB Rc18) for seed production were distributed to the six Agricultural Districts One of the projects under the Plant Program or Agri-4P’s is the Rice Resiliency Project, which aims to increase local rice production to to a more food-secure position. In Hybrid Rice Production, 454 bags of seeds were distributed to the farmers; 400 bags of seeds for Expanded Hybrid Rice Production, and 3,470 bags for the Expanded Inbred Rice Production.
