OpportunitiesCollaboration6.2aPlease provide some key examples of how your city collaborates with business and/or industries in the table below.3Description of collaboration5The Council has published its 2021-2030 City Mobility plan which aims to fundamentally change how people and goods move around the city. The Council has consulted with the industry during the development of the plan and will work with the transport industry in its implementation. The Council will prioritise within the City Mobility Plan, the development of partnerships to deliver strategically located transport hubs that link sustainable and shared transport modes (such as car clubs, bike-sharing, etc.) on a neighbourhood level to close transport gaps and provide ‘last mile’ solutions that complement the existing transport network.Edinburgh’s approach incorporates a wide range of fundamental shifts; from increasing electric vehicle use to developing greener infrastructure. Simultaneously, policy levers are being used to drive behaviours change, for example through low-emissions zones and trialling vehicle-free streets. The Council is engaging with public and private organisation to ensure emissions reductions targets are adopted across the board. This will be supported by a best practice approach to evaluating and reporting on the sustainability impact of council decisions to ensure continuous improvement. The City of Edinburgh Council has a publicly-owned transport company in the form of Transport for Edinburgh which is an Arms-Length External Organisation (ALEO) and provides the city’s bus and tram network. Elected Members are represented on its Board and the strategic planning for the city’s public transport infrastructure is done in close collaboration with TfE.Edinburgh is one of 15 cities taking part in EIT Climate-KIC’s Deep Demonstration of Healthy, Clean Cities – an initiative that aims to model an ambitious, systemic approach to driving exponential leaps in decarbonisation, resilience, wellbeing and prosperity in line with Paris targets. EIT Climate-KIC is working with the City of Edinburgh authority and local partners to map the opportunity space for change. They are looking at access to finance and investment; new business models for housing and transport, new approaches to citizen engagement and rethinking governance.01/20/2022 02:27:05

304438Cities 2021202159552City of Davis, CAUnited States of AmericaNorth America0. Introduction0.1Please give a general description and introduction to your city including your city’s reporting boundary in the table below.2Description of city1Please completeDavis, a municipality located in California’s Central Valley fifteen miles from the state capitol, is noted for its desirable small-town atmosphere, collegiate influences (home to University of California, Davis), and strong emphasis on parks, greenbelts and open spaces. Davis is currently completing a comprehensive update to the 2010 Climate Action and Adaptation Plan. The 2020-2040 CAAP will identify a roadmap to measurable, enforceable, equitable and implementable actions toward community carbon neutrality by 2040, five years ahead of the State of California target. Additionally, in the short term, the CAAP will identify maximum efforts to implement carbon reduction actions by 2030, and bring Davis into compliance with state climate action legislation. Community engagement and outreach is an integral componen tin order to identify community values while developing strategies for carbon reduction. Toward that end, a key focus of the Davis CAAP is to fully incorporate equity, inclusion and diversity in the Davis context into the project planning and outreach. The CAAP website with more information is here: https://www.cityofdavis.org/sustainability/2020-climate-action-and-adaptation-plan-caap Significant related work in the community makes Davis a role model in the region, state and nation. In a ground-breaking public health collaboration, Healthy Davis Together is a joint project between City of Davis and UC Davis with a goal to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and facilitate a coordinated return to regular city activities and reintegration of UC Davis students back into the community. In the transportation sector, Unitrans, one of the largest student-run bus transit systems in the world, is operated jointly by Associated Students of UCD and City of Davis. More than 50 miles of bicycle paths in Davis' greenbelt and transportation network support more bicycles per capita than any other U.S. city. Within the city, there are 36 parks, 485 acres of greenbelts, and 640 acres of open space owned and maintained by the City that provide critical wildlife habitat and opportunities for natural recreational experiences. These lands include agricultural buffers, grasslands/uplands and riparian habitat, wetlands, and native plant sites. The City also owns about 1,300 acres of farmland leased for agriculture production. The City uses a variety of tools to protect open space, including conservation easements, land purchases, an open space parcel tax (Measure O), a “Right to Farm” Ordinance which includes requirements for an agricultural buffer around the community, conservation partnerships, education and outreach, and a requirement for an affirmative citizen vote for General Plan Amendments that re-designate agricultural/open space land to urban uses (Measure R). A Northern California Mecca for artists of many media, Davis features a community-built Art Center, the restored downtown Varsity Theater, more than two dozen private and public galleries, a monthly downtown "Art-About", and an exciting collection of public sculptures, murals and other art installations, many by local artists. UC Davis’s Mondavi Center and Shrem Museum of Art bring world class culture, art and events to the area. The International House is a haven for foreign visitors, scholars, student sand local residents. The Davis Farmers Market, held year-round on Wednesdays and Saturdays in Central Park, provides fresh local fruits and vegetables (often organic). Additionally, market-goers can find gourmet foods, live entertainment, specialty products, and arts and crafts. In summary, Davis is known for innovation and leadership in sustainability, stewardship, and fostering cultural, environmental and social amenities that provide significant quality of life for its residents. Recognized as an environmentally aware and socially pioneering city, residents of Davis are active advocates for political causes, sports, arts, and social organizations.01/20/2022 02:27:05

Please also select the most relevant assets or services that are affected by the climate hazard and provide a description of the impact.12Please describe the impacts experienced so far, and how you expect the hazard to impact in the future1Taoyuan City is located in the north-western part of Taiwan island. The city consists of 13 districts. There are 7 city jurisdictional rivers including Nantunxi, Laojiexi, Fulinxi, Datunxi, Guanyinxi, Xinwuxi and Shezixi. When heavy rain occurs, it is easy to cause flooding. The terrain in northwest coastal area of Taoyuan City is relatively low and full of streams. The river basins are flooded whenever the rainstorm occurs. According to the second generation flooding potential map of Taoyuan City, simulation in the scenario of continuous precipitation for 24 hours with the recurrence interval of 500 years, the future flooding disaster in Taoyuan City will occurred around Dayuan, Zhongmu, Taoyuan, Luzhu, Guanyin, Xinwu and Yangmei basins. The increase of rainfall intensity increases the risk of flooding and compound disasters, resulting in loss of life and property, road and bridge damage, road interruption, which increases difficulty in evacuation and rescue. Rainfall is usually abundant and concentrated in mountain area in Taiwan, which is also easy to induce various landslide disasters along the roads, causing mountain roads being blocked. With increased frequency of long overdue rainfall events, flooding disasters and sloping land complex disasters are inclined to happen, impacting ecological, social and economic activities, people's lives and property safety.01/20/2022 02:27:05
