The study is scenario-based, which is a powerful scientific tool for projecting impactsof hazards for planning and decision- making purposes. It will constitute the scientific basis for the developmentof the disaster risk reduction and management plan (DRRMP). For emergency management, it willaid in the determination of shelterrequirements and evacuation roads. Being able to identify the high-risk barangays, PCG will be able to prioritize its DRR investments through its prograsm, projects and activities.Informal settlements along thePasig River and other waterways are considered the major problem of the city, specifically during rainy season. There are also still many blighted communities occupying both private and public lands within the city that require immediate attention since these settlements consists of sizable numbers of vulnerable residents. With respect to this, the CityGovernment offers housing assistance through its Community Mortgage Program and partnerships with organizations engaged in providing low-cost housing such as Habitat for Humanity and Gawad Kalinga. The safety of school buildings is also part of an ongoing DRR program aimed at securing their multiple uses as learning centers and as primary evacuation centers during disaster and post- disaster situations. This initiative was launched in 2010, in partnership with the Center for Disaster Preparedness (CDP) under the USAID-supported PROMISE project. | 01/20/2022 02:27:05 | ||

Description
This data is collected through the CDP-ICLEI Unified Reporting System. When using this data, please cite both organisations using the following wording: ‘This data was collected in partnership by CDP and ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability’.
This dataset contains a subset of the related full cities dataset, covering Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment and Adaptation Action questions for publicly disclosing cities in 2021. The platform is still open and the dataset is updated daily to reflect new submissions.
To view the cities 2021 questionnaire guidance, including all questions asked to cities in 2021, visit https://www.cdp.net/en/guidance/guidance-for-cities.
For any questions, including guidance on how to reference this data in your own work, please contact cities@cdp.net.
Please note that this dataset may contain data from cities or, in some instances, groups of cities at different administrative levels. This includes metropolitan areas, combined authorities, and some regional councils.
When using the inventory data for aggregation, comparison and trend analysis, please note that the inventory data is based on non-verified self-reported city inputs. The reported inventory may not include all emission sources within the city boundary.
