Academy, business and politics work together for the good of the city and everyone. The innovative districts of Vallastaden and Ebbepark are good proof of this.An important part of the energy system of Linköping is our waste-based CHP plant, where both imported and Linköping generated waste is incinerated, and our well developed district heating system.Östergötland is a county with large variations in bedrock, soil types and water conditions and there are both old forests and agricultural landscapes and wetlands that humans and animals to varying degrees shaped over longtimes. This provides good conditions for many different natural environments and a rich plant and wildlife. Linköping is a municipality with rich and varied nature. Nature is of great importance to all of us who live and work in or visit the municipality but also to at least the same degree for the many thousands of different species of mammals, birds, fish, amphibians and reptiles, insects, crustaceans, arachnids, worms of various kinds, snails and mussels, vascular plants, mosses, lichens, fungi with several who also belong to the municipal residents.
