Please also select the most relevant assets or services that are affected by the climate hazard and provide a description of the impact.12Please describe the impacts experienced so far, and how you expect the hazard to impact in the future10Between 1996 and 2017, 5 flood events and 8 flash flood events resulted in $1.6 million in damages. No fatalities or injuries were reported as a result of flooding. Current patterns in Ann Arbor shows increasing precipitation trends, with more precipitation concentrated in extreme rainfall events, which could lead to increased flooding. These trends are expected to continue into future climate conditions. High emissions scenarios predict an increase of days per year with extreme rainfall events. Spring flooding could also worsen with increasing snow fall and warmer temperatures. We have completed a Climate Justice Index evaluating socially vulnerable population's exposure to climate-change induced flooding and contamination aggravated by floods to examine climate justice in Ann Arbor. From 0 to 5, with 5 being the greatest impacted by climate change, under high impact climate scenarios neighborhoods of the cities ranked as either 3 or 4, and indicated that all census tracts will experience an increase in the number of flood days per year.01/19/2022 02:30:06
