Among the possible technical assistance identified are the 1) evaluation of the unsolicited proposal on establishment of a desalinization plant; 2) water management planning; and 3) wastewater management planning for the Ayala and Tumaga rivers. In 2019, Zamboanga City experienced water shortage which has affected not only the water supply for households and establishments but also irrigation for rice fields.The insufficiency of water supply is addressed of having alternative water sources. A study by USAID SURGE had identified six (6) major river systems as potential alternative surface water sources, namely: Vitali River, Curuan River, Bolong River, Manicahan River, Culianan River and Ayala River. These rivers were identified based on their large catchment basins and high discharge. Several ground water were also identified. The notable potential surface waster sources are from the east coast of the city. These sources are found in the high slope areas of Vitali, Curuan, Bolong, and Manicahan watersheds. For the west coast, the Ayala may be explored but it is not too small for large scale demand. Small rivers, such as the Saaz River and Maasin River. The Maasin River originates in the mountains near Camp Susana, approximately 14 km northwest of downtown area. Saaz River in San Ramon area and drains into Basilan Strait. Springs found in high slope areas of Barangay Limpapa and Labuan may also be noted. | 01/20/2022 02:27:05 | |||

This dataset contains the full responses of publicly disclosing cities in 2021. The platform is still open and the dataset is updated daily to reflect new submissions.
