Some highlights and achievements at the City and State level in subsequent years include: • A solar PV project for SA Housing Trust properties with rooftop solar PV installed on 130 public housing properties within the City. The total renewable energy capacity is approximately 200kW.• The Hornsdale Power Reserve, began operating in 2017 and comprises a 129 MWh Tesla battery system that helps to stabilise the electricity grid. 70% of the battery is contracted to provide energy security for South Australia. Under certain circumstances, 100% of the battery capacity is available. • Battery storage systems comprising 184 kWh at Adelaide High School, 276kWh at the State Library of South Australia, 64 kWh at the Art Gallery of South Australia, and 64 kWh at the City of Adelaide London Road Works Depot were installed in early 2018 as part of the Government’s Storage Demonstration project.• Water utility, SA Water, has announced a goal of “Zero Cost Energy Futures” which includes the instalment of 242GWh of new solar arrays and 34MWh of energy storage devices on sites across South Australia. SA Water also increases the energy self-sufficiency of its metropolitan wastewater treatment plants by harnessing biogas to generate renewable electricity. The plants produced 15,700 tonnes of biogas which generated over 39,000MWh of total renewable electricity across the sites in 2018/19.01/20/2022 02:27:05
