City-wide EmissionsCity-wide GHG Emissions Data4.4Which gases are included in your city-wide emissions inventory?00CO2In the CO2 monitor we only look at energetic CO2 emissions. We omit non-energetic CO2 emissions. Also, we do not look at other greenhouse gases, which are sometimes much stronger than Co2.Not all CO2 emissions are directly related to energy consumption. A lot of non-energetic CO2 is released worldwide in other areas, for example at landfills, in construction, by heavy industry or from peat meadow areas. In Groningen, these only play a minor role. Therefore, sufficient insight is gained by only looking at energetic CO2 emissions.01/19/2022 02:30:06

Greater Manchester has produced a set of natural capital accounts for the city-region, setting out the value of its natural capital assets and of the benefits derived from them. It pioneered this approach as part of the UK Government’s 25 Year Environment Plan. On the back of that, it produced the UK’s first Natural Capital Investment Plan, setting out the case and priorities for investment in Greater Manchester’s natural capital and how business models for alternative funding should be developed. This Natural Capital Approach is being embedded across partners to make the case for investment to reduce the risks to natural capital and increase the multiple benefits it provides to the city-region.01/19/2022 02:30:06
