As a by-product of tree management and coppicing trees will provide biomass for domestic heating and industrial production of heat, electricity and biofuels. Changes in legislation in 2021 will phase out the use of polluting solid fuels including wet or ‘green’ wood in favour of cleaner alternatives such as dry or seasoned wood with a moisture content of less than 20%.11.
