Please also select the most relevant assets or services that are affected by the climate hazard and provide a description of the impact.12Please describe the impacts experienced so far, and how you expect the hazard to impact in the future5Landslide processes in the areas of deep landslides are associated with the peculiarities of the geological structure in the valleys of the Moskva River and some of its major tributaries: the presence of high and steep slopes, at the base of which are Jurassic clay deposits, prone to deformation and loss of strength over time. The landslide slopes have a similar relief: in the upper part there is a high steep slope, in the middle and lower parts there is a landslide terrace with a specific bumpy ridge relief. On the territory of Moscow, all landslide sites are under constant monitoring as part of monitoring geoecological processes. According to the results of surveys in 2020, as in previous years of observations, at 5 sites, signs of deep landslide activity are characterized as weak. In 3 areas of the observed deep landslides (Khoroshevo-2, Nizhni Mnevniki, Serebryany Bor), deep landslides are in the stage of temporary stabilization, only local deformations of the near-surface zone are noted. The risk of a landslide process developing in the near future in these areas is low, but it should also be taken into account when carrying out any construction and earthworks affecting the slope or the adjacent territory.For example, on the Sparrow Hills, the distribution of displacements in depth corresponds to a similar distribution for past measurement cycles. Displacements are recorded, among other things, at the marks of the occurrence of the sole of Jurassic clays, which confirms the potential danger of the development of a deep landslide. At the same time, the velocity and absolute values of displacement values in Jurassic clays do not exceed 4 mm per year. Displacements of the soil mass for the period 2019-2020. they are among the lowest for the entire period of observations and, together with the results of geodetic measurements, indicate a decrease in the activity of the landslide process on the Vorobyovy Gory in 2020. Over the past few years, deep landslides have experienced weak plastic deformations that can continue for a long time. At the same time, it is extremely important to continue monitoring, develop and technologically improve the monitoring system to more accurately record the necessary parameters to obtain reliable and accurate data for the purpose of predicting further landslide movements.01/20/2022 02:27:05

This data is collected through the CDP-ICLEI Unified Reporting System. When using this data, please cite both organisations using the following wording: ‘This data was collected in partnership by CDP and ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability’.
This dataset contains the full responses of publicly disclosing cities in 2021. The platform is still open and the dataset is updated daily to reflect new submissions.
