Adaptation | Adaptation Actions | 3.0 | Please describe the main actions you are taking to reduce the risk to, and vulnerability of, your city’s infrastructure, services, citizens, and businesses from climate change as identified in the Climate Hazards section. | 8 | Action description and implementation progress | 2 | The national heatwave action plan put in place in 2004 introduced a set of preventive and informative measures. These measures aim at protecting vulnerable members of society such as isolated people, the elderly and children. As part of this plan, in Paris, a register called Reflex has been created. Vulnerable people can be self-registredregistered with a free phone call. During heatwaves, they get a phone check-up and cooling advice, with a medical professional dispatched to their home if necessary. This register has also been used during the coronavirus crisis and can be used faor any climate crisis. Vulnerable people also get access to a refreshed room in each of the 20 city halls. Paris has also made available 3,500 reusable water bottles to homeless people over the summer. The City of Paris has developed a "heatwave" communication plan and distributed a communication kit to all of the City's departments, making it possible to inform and raise awareness among both City employees and users. The communication plan covers the entire scope, from prevention (registration in the Reflex file, reminder of preventive actions, etc.) to the real-time mobilisation of all the City's tools in the event of a crisis, depending on the level of activation of the heatwave plan.During the summer 2020, the Heatwave kit for use by all departments, informing Parisians of solutions to combat the heat and the measures put in place by the City to protect them, is made up of different media (posters to be printed, infographics for social networks and illuminated signs in public spaces, etc.). These different materials have been distributed to social landlords and Climate Volunteers in order to relay the information to Parisians. These materials provide information on :-The good practises during the heat wave;-The good practises at home;-The good practises for babies and children;-The Reflex system;-Cool islands. In summer 2021: 58 misters are deployed throughout Paris and 23 misters are deployed in green spaces. | 01/20/2022 02:27:05 | |||
