Please provide details on the boundary of your plan, and where this differs from your city’s boundary, please provide an explanation.4Climate hazards factored into plan that addresses climate change adaptation2Water Scarcity > DroughtThe City adopted its first climate change adaptation plan, entitled the Sectoral Climate Adaptation Plans of Action x7 (Coastal; Spatial Planning; Health; Human Settlements; Disaster Risk Management; Catchments) in 2011 (see attached). The City joined the C40 Deadline 2020 programme and thereby committed the City to develop a Climate Change Action Plan (CCAP) that is aligned with the ambition and goals of the Paris Agreement for climate resilience and carbon neutrality by 2050. An updated CCAP has therefore been developed and will replace previous plans. This plan is the City’s first fully integrated version of an CCAP that covers both mitigation and adaptation. In parallel, the City’s Climate Change Policy of 2017 was superseded by a Climate Change Strategy which has been adopted by Council in 2021. The City’s new CCAP is a subsidiary instrument of the Climate Change Strategy. The City’s new CCAP focusing on carbon neutrality and climate resilience reported here.01/20/2022 02:27:05
