This document, composed of two parts, assesses the historical climatic data, describing how climate evolved until now on Milan territory, and, in the second part, it uses this data to make projections on how the climate will change by 2050.Furthermore, within the project ClimaMI it has been developed an Information Tool on Urban Climate (SI-CU). SI-CU identifies and develops an integrated framework of climate data and information, essential for a multitude of application areas, which can thus benefit from the availability of operational, updated and site related climate indicators: from Energy Management to Rainwater Control and Management, from Urban Planning to Public Health as well as Financial Services and Insurance sectors.Finally, Politecnico di Milano and the IUAV University of Venice created the climate risk map of the municipal territory. By overlapping the mapping of heat exposure in different city areas with the socio-economic data of the inhabitants, it was possible to attribute a different level of risk that considered the exposure to the hazard of the most vulnerable socio-economic categories. A hazard, in fact, may not have severe consequences in an area where there are no vulnerabilities and sensitive populations. Such mapping is useful to the local government to develop aimed policies and improve local resilience, both with structural intervention such as improving green spaces, or with mitigation strategy aimed at decrease vulnerability.01/20/2022 02:27:05
