Promote and enhance green infrastructure as playing a critical role in increasing London’s capacity to adapt to climate change, (e.g. during droughts, heatwaves, heavy rainfall events etc) and adopt new approaches to the design and management of green space (i.e. drought resistant vs native plants etc.) Progress against this action - Planning requirements are robust and green infrastructure is protected and enhanced to increase biodiversity.Costs and emission reductions based on the actions in our action plan are banded estimates, guided by the following format:Costs:1.Existing - to be met from existing and already identified resource2.Low – under £50k required for the project or approach3.Medium – Between £50k and £200k required for the project or approach4.High – Over £200k required for the project or approachTotal Project Cost of the above actions is estimated at low, below 50k | 01/20/2022 02:27:05 | |||

| 266700 | Cities 2021 | 2021 | 13506 | Nottingham City Council | United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland | Europe | 8. Energy | 8.0a | Please provide details of your renewable energy target(s) and how the city plans to meet those targets. | 11 | Comment | 2 | Nottingham is a signatory of the UK100, a commitment to switch communities to 100% clean energy by 2050. As the target is for 100% clean energy, no baseline is provided. The best estimate using local data from a range of sources (published 2021) is 21.6% for 2019. The figure is a ratio of the available local energy generation from low-carbon sources to the local domestic and non-domestic demand for energy, covering heat and electricity. It is therefore an estimate, and is hard to fully validate this given the data restrictions.Expanding local low carbon sources of energy within the city is a key objective within the Energy Generation theme in Nottingham's Carbon Neutral Action Plan, (https://www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/media/2619917/2028-carbon-neutral-action-plan-v2-160620.pdf), which includes further actions to achieve this that Nottingham City Council can take, actions that we can take in partnership, and actions for how Central Government can help. | 01/20/2022 02:27:05 |
