Para realizar el cálculo, se llevaron a cabo los siguientes pasos: primero, sedeterminó la generación de desechos per cápita para Guatemala, el cual corresponde a 0.45Kg/habitante/día para el área urbana y 0.33 Kg/habitante/día para el área rural, según datos37publicados por IARNA-URL 2012. Posteriormente se calculó la cantidad de desechossólidos generados en el 2017 para todo el municipio, en función a los datos de población yla generación de desechos per cápita, donde además, se calculó la fracción de los desechosque se queman y la otra fracción que no se quema y se degradan bajo condicionesaeróbicas. Este indicador, se obtuvo de la información publicada por INE (2015), dondemencionan que en Guatemala, el 44% de la población (11.90% área urbana y 32.10% árearural), quema sus desechos sólidos. El resto son llevados a zonas reguladas como losvertederos municipales o a zonas no reguladas (clandestinas) donde se deposita y que sonfuente de emisión de GEI.Como una acción complementaria, se realizaron visitas de campo a los vertederos de losmunicipios que integran MASUR (Ver Figura 19 en anexos), acepción del municipio deIztapa, ya que no cuenta con un vertedero municipal y los desechos sólidos son depositadosen el vertedero de San José. A pesar que los desechos sólidos no son tratados dentro de loslímites geográficos del municipio, las emisiones que estos generen se le contabilizarán almunicipio como alcance 3. La visita tuvo por objetivo, caracterizar el tipo de gestión ytratamiento de los desechos sólidos municipales, ya que en función a la gestión que estosreciban, así se aplican los supuestos que las ecuaciones requieren para los cálculos.01/20/2022 02:27:05
