Lower river levels and decreasing river water quality will put pressure on adhering to wastewater treatment regulations. Prolonged water shortages will also affect green infrastructure and natural environments which impact river water quality.Managing water use: Changes in seasonality, how and when Calgary receives precipitation will change how water is managed and storage will become more critical. Climate change will need to be considered to assess the adequacy of existing water efficiency targets.Adoption of behaviours and actions: Many Calgary citizens take water for granted and hold a belief that there is an unlimited supply of water. Changes in behaviour will require significant and ongoing education of where our water comes from, the risks to our water supply, how climate change affects these risks, and thus why we are looking for behaviour change around water use. | 01/20/2022 02:27:05 | |||
