OpportunitiesCollaboration6.2aPlease provide some key examples of how your city collaborates with business and/or industries in the table below.3Description of collaboration2Ecological Solid Waste Management System/Program - The City Government of Legazpi has instituted the implementation of the Ecological Solid Waste Management System in compliance to Republic Act 9003 otherwise know as the "Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000" with a fund grant from Spanish Government through Agencia Española Cooperacion Internacional para el Desarrollo (AECID) in the amount of 1.7 Million Euros in 2009.The program addresses the 6 functional elements of waste management such as, waste generation, storage , collection, transfer and transport, processing and recovery, and disposal. The program has been sustainably implemented by city because it involves shared responsibility among stakeholders. Implementation of the ESWM system in the locality delineates the area of responsibility between the City Government and the Barangay Local Government Unit, who are the key actors of this undertaking.Supported with the Integrated Ecological Solid Waste Management ordinance, key initiatives that has lead to the the city to sustain the ESWM system include, implementation of waste segregation at source,; establishment, operation, and management of Barangay Materials Recovery Facility and Drop-Off Center (BMRDOC); employment of Barangay Eco-Managers and Eco-Aides; provision of Barangay Solid Waste Collection Equipment and Waste Bins; establishment, operation and management of Composting and Sanitary Landfill Facilities ; barangay-based waste recycling and reduction activities; provision of incentive mechanism to best performing barangay in the implementation of Barangay ESWM, ESWM for business establishment prior to the issuance of business permit, and the deputation of ESWM enforcers.The city has also received another grant from the World Bank Global Environment Facility (WB-GEF) amounting to Php21.2M under Integrated Persistent Organic Pollutants (IPOPs) project in 2014, which lead to the closure and rehabilitation of the open dumpsite in the city. This dataset contains all public responses to the CDP-ICLEI 2021 Cities questionnaire. All data included in the dataset is self reported by cities. The reporting platform remains open and the dataset is updated daily to reflect new submissions.
Please note that this dataset exceeds the capacity for Excel. To export the data to Excel, the dataset has been separated into three files. Please follow the links below to access these:
